Luxury cabins, surrounded by orchards
Arum Lily Log Cabins is one of Cape Town’s hidden gems and can be found about 5 kilometres outside Wolseley in the Western Cape. When writing this article, you can choose to book a stay in the cottage or in one of the five cabins sitting on the side of the dam.
The cabins can accommodate four to six people (depending on the place). All of the cabins have fully equipped kitchens with coffee and tea facilities. Each cabin also has a beautiful, private wooden deck with seating overlooking the dam. Other amenities include air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and luxuriously-soft towels and bathrobes. There’s also body, handwash, and extra wood for the indoor fireplace or hot tub! Yes, each cabin also has a wood-fired hot tub on the deck. The water in these hot tubs gets heated via a stainless steel wood-fired stove and is especially lovely when the weather is cooler.

I was lucky enough to get a peek at some of the other cabins during our stay, and I can truly say all of the log cabins are equally beautiful and unique. The tranquil atmosphere on the farm will help you feel relaxed in no time.
Cabin 5 can sleep up to six people. The two bedrooms upstairs have incredible views of the dam and the farm. The bedroom downstairs has an en-suite bathroom and sliding doors onto the wooden deck with stunning views and sunsets.
Cabin 2 is a newer addition to the farm and has a slightly more modern feel. This cabin can sleep up to four people. The cabin consists of a spacious open-plan living area and two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The entertainment area on the cabin’s side is a perfect addition to this beautiful house.
Cabin 3 is cosy and intimate and can sleep up to four people. One of the bedrooms is on the second floor and has beautiful views over the dam. The wooden deck outside the cabin is the perfect setting to relax and unwind.
Even though there are a few cabins around the dam, they are all spaced far apart, resulting in a more intimate and private experience. These cabins are excellent for a romantic getaway. But they are also great for a group of friends or a family retreat. Activities on the farm include walking through the orchards and canoe rides on the dam while observing the local bird and animal life.
